Christianity, based on the valuable teachings, miracles, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, started as early as around 30 A.D and today it is the largest religion in the world with about 1.7 billion followers worldwide. Christianity tends to take beliefs quite seriously, which deals with everything from God to afterlife along with the historical developments and denominational differences. Christians believe that Jesus, the son of God or Almighty had come to earth to teach about love, fellowship and to save people of the world from their transgressions.

After Jesus’ death, his followers had written several books based on his preaching and his expectations for Christians. The Bible, or the holy book which is considered to be the foundation of Christianity, is comprised of the Old Testament and The New Testament. More specifically, it consists of 39 books from the Old Testament and 27 books from the latter .The Bible consists of certain personal stories, poetic works, prophetic stories, God’s laws for his people, and apocalyptic works too.

Jesus Christ, the central figure of Christianity, was born in Bethlehem, in Judea by Mother Mary. He had a supernatural power to control nature. It seemed that even a storm of high wind and the waves on the Sea of Galilee obeyed Him and listened to his words. He even demonstrated his power over sickness and diseases. Miraculously, Jesus cured certain congenital problems not susceptible to psychosomatic cure. He made the lame learn how to walk, the dumb to see and the blind to hear. Jesus said, “God is a humble servant of all. Wisdom is no Surprise to the righteous. He who is wise through with sin does the works of my Father and can enter Heaven.”

Jesus gained as many enemies as followers since his noble teachings often challenged the authority of religious and civil leaders. So much so, that the leaders devised a plan to kill him and finally Jesus was sentenced to death.
